About

The World Power Challenge is a viral global challenge devised by educators, students, public figures and book lovers worldwide that calls on the leading nations to support education and help fight against illiteracy. First-time authors from the USA, China and Britain, have been randomly chosen through a social media campaign, to have their books used in this global competition. The first nation whose book reaches 30 million sold by 11:59 pm on New Year's Eve will be crowned World Power Champion! Show your support by posting a photo of you and your chosen book with #Worldpower #Readinghasmeaning. All countries are welcome and encouraged to participate. All three authors have agreed to donate a portion of the proceeds to educational programs in their respective countries. We thank you for your support in showing that reading still has a place in the world. May the best and most patriotic nation WIN!

Disclaimer: No educators or students participated or profited from this competition. This event is strictly for writers. Participation is entirely voluntary. We understand that not everyone will be able to participate. We understand and ask that if you can't support, you share to spread the word.

“Growing up reading Shakespeare inspired my writing of sonnets. I never imagined that I would have the opportunity to have my sonnets read by anyone or be apart of such a wonderful competition. I honestly started to lose hope as an author that reading was a lost pastime. I hope my book reaches as many people as possible. I am, now and forever, eternally grateful. Good luck Britain! Let’s win this!”
